A major trial which could force changes to Facebook and Instagram has started in California today. 29 US states accuse their owner, Meta, of illegally collecting children’s data. Four states also say it deliberately designed addictive features for young users and misled the public about safety. We speak to journalists and hear from social media addiction experts. Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, is to play two shows in St Petersburg, Russia, this October - becoming the biggest Western star to play in the country since its invasion of Ukraine four years ago.
