Historic wins for Democrats in the US midterm elections

Newsday

Available for 29 days

A dramatic upset for the Republican party in the United States as voters rebuke the politics of President Donald Trump in the midterm elections. The Democrats are on track to win a large majority in the House and also take the Senate too. There have been some historic wins in Texas and Kansas and it's been a night of firsts, with the first black female governor elected, the first openly gay Senator, the first latina governor and the first muslim senator. President Trump has said he will accept the electon results but he blamed the losses on the fact he wasn't on the ballot. Presenters: James Copnall and Catherine Byaruhanga.
