The United States' national debt has hit forty-trillion dollars, its highest ever figure. The debt has more than doubled over the last decade, growing at a rate of a trillion dollars every five months since twenty-twenty. Israel has opened up new bids for the construction of more than a thousand homes in a strategically important area of the occupied West Bank. It consists of seven residential compounds in what is known as the E1 area east of Jerusalem, where Israeli settlement activists seek to divide the West Bank.
