Hereford FC: Mopping up the pitch and the points

Available for over a year

The Bulls beat both Macclesfield and Storm Boelo to go top of the league. Their backroom staff leapt in to action to keep the 4G pitch safe enough to play. During half-time, the rain was so heavy pools began forming on the pitch. To help keep the game alive, and beating Macclesfield staff to the action, coach Harry Pell and goalkeeping coach Shaun Edwards leapt in to action, driving super-soppers up and down to reduce the surface water. At the time, the Bulls were 1-0 up with the home side down to 10 men. Hereford ended up winning the game 2-1, mopping up both the pitch and all of the points, jumping to the top of the National League North table. Malcolm Boyden reports. Image credit: Bulls News
