They were once vital messengers during the First World War. Now, many people see them as little more than a nuisance. But a group in East Kent is helping pigeons suffering from a condition known as stringfoot. Canterbury and Thanet Stringfoot Pigeons helps birds whose feet have become tangled in discarded hair, string, wire and other litter, often causing serious injury.
