18 months wait for an allotment plot in Leicester

Available for over a year

More than 1,100 people are waiting for allotment plots across Leicester and Leicestershire, as demand remains high. Some councils have said they have been creating smaller plots to help reduce waiting lists, with the average wait for a plot in Leicester standing at about 18 months. For those lucky enough to have a plot it really can be lifechanging. BBC Leicester’s Ady Dayman popped down to the Groby Allotment Society where he met Laura Harrold and Kathy Griffiths.
