Bromsgrove's record-breaking polar bear

Available for over a year

Gill Punt has raised over £2million for cancer charities running in full costume, achieving the landmark at the 2026 London Marathon. The Worcestershire teacher started running in memory of her late father, who died from cancer. In the years since, she's broken records with runs all over the world, garnering fans with her polar bear costume, nicknamed 'Paula' after legendary distance runner Paula Radcliffe. Gill's students organised for her to meet Paula on the day of the London Marathon too! The BBC Make A Difference Award winner tells Tammy Gooding how running in the costume was 'like a furnace', but she'll keep running until a cure for cancer is found. Image credit: Gill Punt
