Nigeria working 'relentlessly' to evacuate students in Kherson

The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) says Nigeria's ambassador to Russia, together with the foreign ministry, is negotiating with the Russians to open a humanitarian corridor to allow people to leave the occupied city of Kherson. Several Nigerian students are still stranded in shelters in the southern Ukrainian city, which is now under Russian control. Speaking to Focus on Africa's Esau Williams, chairperson Abike Dabiri-Erewa said that so far 1500 Nigerians out of a total of more than five thousand in Ukraine, have been evacuated and many more had made their own safe passage out of the conflict-hit country.
