Arctic sea ice reaches near record low

Newsday

Available for over a year

New research shows that Arctic sea ice has this month shrunk to the second lowest level on record. The National Snow and Ice Data Center said data shows a dip below four million square kilometres. A heat wave in Siberia caused an especially fast thaw. Dr Twila Moon is a researcher at the Center in Boulder, Colorado. (Picture: Arctic sea ice Credit: BBC)
