To mark Hate Crime Week, Ian Hamilton has been investigating various aspects of hate crime, from religion and race to gay and transphobic offences. Concluding his investigation, he spoke to Andrew Tickell, law lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University, about where the law stands on hate crime, and trans woman Natalie Scott, who took legal action after being a victim of transphobic attack.
