Music piracy thriving in Malawi

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

In many African countries – like in other parts of the world - the music business has suffered because of piracy. The problem is particularly acute in Malawi, despite the fact that there are laws meant to protect intellectual property. As Frank Kandu reports from Blantyre, music pirates are thriving at the expense of desperate musicians and producers.
