A spiritual comment and prayer to start the day with Jo Moir Good Morning. It's my favourite time of day right now, not quite early enough for the kids to be awake! My family is big, loud and often chaotic! I sometimes worry that our neighbours need earplugs from all the singing and banter they must enjoy and endure from our side of the street! Families come in all shapes and sizes, bring all manner of joys and challenges. Some are harmonious, some are broken, some are complete, some are fractured by loss. Some are close by, others are separated by miles. This morning I am going to stop for a moment and join with thousands of people in the UK thinking and praying for families as part of the national week of prayer. Thinking of someone for whom ‘family’ is different or difficult. Remember for a moment a family who are grieving or experiencing challenges or persecution. Consider those who are separated from their family right now by distance or by disagreements. Today I pray you will know the beauty of family, whether large or small, whether blood relatives or a group of friends, a community or a faith group. I pray for those who feel they have no family or are grieving the loss of a key member, Lord will you bring them peace. For those who are separated by distance or estrangement Lord will you bring healing and for those who are facing challenges today Lord, would you bring them hope. In Jesus name. Amen. Right I’m off to enjoy the last moments of peace before the kids wake up! Bless you!
