In this episode, Nono discusses her early years in South Africa, shares a little about the five languages she speaks, how she always found her way to the front of the choir and how her life has since been shaped by Ireland not to mention her desire to swap the weather from Cape Town and bring it to Buncrana, Co. Donegal… This first half of the programme is part of The Music is Black season of programming on the BBC, reflecting and celebrating some of the key genres, personalities, scenes and music that have defined the last 125 years of Black music in the UK.
