Tales from Ballymena and a trip to Balmoral

Kintra

Available for 27 days

Helen Mark MBE presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazines how - this week alongside Rab Lennox, Jonnie Crawford and Willie Hill. Looking forward to a day out celebrating 400 years since the Adair Family receiving the charter to settle the lands around Ballymena – there’s two tales from around that part of the world. Helen hears about a lesser known element of the Adair story at a reception hosted by The Mayor while Jonnie learns about a Ballymena Observer Ulster-Scots columnist who managed to have ‘his’ work published for decades. Meanwhile, Willie takes in some fun and games at an Ulster-Scots themed stand at The Balmoral Show. As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email – helen.mark@bbc.co.uk
