Mike Love is an American singer, songwriter and co-founder of The Beach Boys, born in Los Angeles. As a founding member, he co-wrote many of the band’s early hits and played a key role in shaping their vocal sound and identity. In the 60th year since their seminal album Pet Sounds he talks about recording the vocals for the album. Garth Cartwright is a British journalist, author and broadcaster, born in New Zealand and now based in London. He discusses his book Princes Amongst Men: Journeys with Romani-Gypsy Musicians. The book blends travel writing, music history and cultural analysis, following Cartwright’s journeys through countries including former Yugoslavia, Romania and Bulgaria.
