Having led the Rebels to their most successful season since joining the Premier League in 2002, Magnus 'Zorro' Zetterstrom was always the favourite to lift the award. On receiving the award at the presentation night, held at the Abbey Moor Stadium in Glastonbury, Zetterstrom dedicated the trophy to his team-mates. | | Glenn Cunningham + his Premier League Fours Trophy |
"Everyone in the team has played their part this season," he said. "It was a true team effort and winning this award, whilst very special to me, is as much for everyone else in the team as it is for myself." Runners-up in the poll, which was based on the fan's votes, were Ritchie Hawkins, who increased his average by nearly a point over the course of the season, and the ever-popular Paul Fry. It's been award-tastic for the Somerset Rebels in 2005. The team claimed their first-ever Premier League tournament title at Workington's Derwent Park in August of this year. Led by skipper Magnus Zetterstrom, the team, which consisted of Glenn Cunningham, Paul Fry, Ritchie Hawkins and reserve Chris Mills, won the Premier League Fours Championship with an excellent all-round team performance. |
