Tamil film Dasavatharam

Magnum opus, Dasavatharam is set to break box office records thanks to Kamal Haasan's portrayal of 10 characters, a first in Tamil and Indian cinema.

Directed by: K.S.Ravikumar
Cast: Kamal Haasan, Asin Thottumkal, Mallika Sherawat and Jayapradha

Shot on a grand scale and costing 1.4 billion Rupees, Dasavatharam is the latest Tamil epic - releasing in UK cinemas this month.

Dasavatharam, literally meaning 10 incarnations sees renowned actor Kamal Haasan playing 10 different characters.

It's believed that such a feat has never been accomplished by an actor in Indian or Hollywood cinema.

Popular Tamil actress Asin Thottumkal will be seen playing a dual role in this action movie - one of which is portraying the love interest of Kamal Hasan.

Beautiful Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat makes a foray into Tamil cinema in Dasavatharam, said to have taken three years in the making.

The basic storyline is being kept a closely guarded secret by the Tamil producer – presumably another marketing ploy to attract an inquisitive audience.

Hollywood action choreographer Andy Dixon, who worked on films like Miami Vice, Transporter 2 and Ace Ventura - Pet Detective, has supervised the car chases towards the climax of this movie.

Directed by KS Ravikumar, Dasavatharam is said to release with a maximum of 1000 prints in three languages - Tamil, Telugu and Hindi - the largest for any Tamil film to date. But in UK cinemas, the film will be available in Tamil only.

Popular Bollywood Musical Director Himesh Reshammiya has composed the score for this film shot in America, Malaysia and India

General Manager of distributor Ayngaran International Ltd Karan Bala confirms that a total of 21 prints have been allocated to UK cinemas.
