The Archers and Farming Today Farming for the Future Award 2026

Welcome to the nomination form for the Farming for the Future Award in the BBC Food & Farming Awards 2026

This year we are excited to be once again partnering with The Archers on Radio 4 with cast member Mali Harries (who plays Natasha Archer) joining as co-judge.

It’s been a challenging few years for the agriculture sector. Farmers have had to balance issues such as climate change, environmental impact, uncertainties around tariffs and farming policy - with producing food for the nation.

We want to recognise the individuals and businesses who are going above and beyond to find solutions to these challenges, and working to build a more resilient and sustainable industry for the future.

We want you to tell us about farmers who have made rapid changes in response to the changing world around them - who are embracing new growing solutions to benefit the environment, pioneering innovative tech to improve animal welfare, exploring new ways to make good food accessible, and developing sustainable strategies to inspire the next generation of farmers.

The previous winners of this award are The Free Company (2025),  Andrew Howard (2024), The Green Farm Collective (2023), Jake Freestone (2022), Waitrose & SRUC for their Good Life animal welfare project (2021.)

Nominations can be made from 6am on Friday 22 May 2026 until the closing date of Monday 15 June 2026 at 12.00pm.
