    Healing Sounds with Malachi Cush

Acclaimed artist Jacqueline Rooney tells Malachi how cancer led her to reimagine her life.

Very few records can claim to have changed the world, but Nevermind is one of them. Before it was released in 1991, Nirvana were just one of a handful of bands in a little scene centred around Seattle, making noisy rock music for their friends. But the band's second album transformed them into the biggest rock band in the world, it established Seattle as the place to be, and it announced grunge as the next big thing. But rather than being an overnight success, Nevermind was the product of many years of underground music, Kurt Cobain assimilating his myriad influences to produce a wholly original masterpiece. 'Grunge' may gave been the buzzword of the day, but in reality, Nevermind was the final triumph and evolution of American punk rock and underground music.
