
M23 accused of mass rape in DR Congo
An Amnesty International report has accused the M23 militant group of the mass rape of 66 women and girls in Kishishe in eastern DR Congo.
An Amnesty International report has accused the M23 militant group of the mass rape of 66 women and girls in Kishishe in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The NGO says the crimes took place last November, while M23’s political spokesperson tells us the group denies the accusations.
Plus, South Africa has begun joint naval drills with Russia and China, despite pressure from NATO powers to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The exercises come after Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov visited South Africa in January.
