Kenya’s transport minister Kipchumba Murkomen has published previously unreleased details about the China-funded Standard Gauge Railway project. The country’s new president William Ruto had pledged to make details of the deal public during the recent election campaign. Some aspects of the agreement have elicited controversy, with any disputes to be arbitrated in Beijing, and the main contractor exempted from paying taxes.
