
Kenyan residents sue UK for colonial theft
Kenyans sue the former British colonial power for driving them off their land
Residents from Kericho County in Kenya file a case against the British government at the European Court of Human Rights for driving them off their land. They are seeking redress for what they describe as a colonial-era land theft. Hassan Arouni speaks to one of their lawyers, Joel Kimutai Bosek.
Also in the programme China says it will forgive 23 interest free loans to 17 African countries and opposes stoking any confrontation or conflict in Africa. The move comes as accusations mount that China is trapping countries in debt in the hope of one day grabbing strategic assets and Egypt holds celebrations to mark the end of the Mango Festival to promote the fruit in local and foreign markets.
