
Kenya Elections: Electoral body split as Ruto is declared winner
Deputy President William Ruto declared winner of Kenyan presidential elections, after dramatic electoral authority split on decision.
The Kenyan electoral authority has declared Deputy President William Ruto as winner of the presidential election after a very tight race. The much-awaited announcement had previously been thrown into disarray by chaos at the podium of the National Tally Centre.
Also, we hear the story of Modupe, a young Nigerian tech engineer turned passionate farmer, who was kidnapped on her way home from her Cassava farm in a remote area of the southwestern part of the country. Plus, cautious calm has returned to Sierra Leone after the government lifted the curfew imposed, following the cost-of-living protests which led to 25 deaths, including five police officers and a 12-year-old child.
