DRC government wants quick UN troop pull-out

DRC government spokesperson Patrick Muyaya tells Focus on Africa that people in North Kivu are frustrated by persistent insecurity. The Congolese government wants UN peacekeepers to speed up their planned withdrawal from the country, scheduled to be completed by 2024.

Plus, reaction to the killing of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a US drone strike in Afghanistan. He was blamed for the 1998 bombings of US embassies in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam, which claimed more than 200 lives.
