Tanzania’s Maasai evicted from ancestral lands
The Tanzanian government says the relocation of Maasai communities is voluntary.
The eviction of the Maasai people from ancestral lands in Tanzania continues despite condemnation but the Tanzanian government insists that the relocation is voluntary. The disputed areas will be protected for the conservation purposes.
The UK government says it is not deterred by the last-minute cancellation of the first asylum-seekers flight to Rwanda and insists deportations will go ahead.
And Cameroon embarks on a week-long campaign to encourage citizens to donate blood.
