Nant SA, based in Cape Town, will manufacture Covid-19 vaccines aimed at preventing infection, rather than just protecting against severe illness.
South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa and South African born but US-based businessman Dr Patrick Soon-Shiong, have opened a new vaccine facility in Cape Town that could be a gamechanger by making doses that prevent Covid-19 infections.
Plus, we hear about the plight of Kenyan domestic workers in the Lebanon who say they are living a life without dignity there and are protesting to be repatriated.
And Adama Barrow has been sworn in for a second term as Gambian president, following his election victory last month.
