A coup in Sudan thwarted

Authorities say a coup attempt has been foiled and forty officers arrested.

Soldiers said to be loyal to the former Sudanese President, Omar al-Bashir, tried to overthrow the interim transitional government led by Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.

Also, insecurity in Cameroon's troubled English-speaking regions is forcing agricultural plantations to fold up.

Plus, Kenya and the UK appear to come to an agreement over the recognition of Covid vaccinations and being allowed to travel without costly quarantine in hotels.
