
Gambia’s High Court rules on overseas voters case
The Gambia’s High Court dismisses the application that the IEC enforce the Supreme Court judgment on overseas voters.
The Supreme Court of the Gambia had ruled in favour of five plaintiffs who took the electoral commission and the government to court, over the disenfranchisement of voters living abroad. Today, the High Court dismissed the application that the IEC enforce the Supreme Court judgment, saying the Supreme Court has exclusive jurisdiction over the case. We hear from one of the plaintiffs.
Plus, Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta discusses the new deal which will allow unemployed healthcare professionals to work in the United Kingdom, saying the country is producing “more nurses every year than we can absorb.”
