Diplomatic push to get food aid into Tigray

A diplomatic push is underway to get vital food and humanitarian aid into Ethiopia’s Tigray region. The UN’s humanitarian chief is in the country to lobby for improved access, while the World Food Programme says food convoys which had been held in Afar have now been able to leave for Tigray. Ethiopia’s government rejects accusations from relief agencies that it has deliberately blocked aid.
