President Idriss Déby has died in clashes with rebel fighters.
The late Chadian President’s son Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has been made interim president by a military council, and will rule the country for the next 18 months.
Fourteen days of mourning have been declared and a curfew has been imposed in the country.
