Tanzania: Authorities say 45 people died in a stampede at Magufuli tribute

The stampede occurred when thousands of citizens tried to get into into a stadium

Authorities in Tanzania say 45 people died during a stampede in Dar-es-Salaam on March 21 as mourners paid their last respects to the late President John Pombe Magufuli.

Thousands of people have fled the town of Palma in Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique following an attack last week, by hundreds of Islamist militants. Dozens of civilians were killed during the attack.

And, the International Criminal Court in The Hague has upheld the war crimes conviction against the Congolese rebel leader, Bosco Ntaganda.
