Guchi: Coping with my mum’s memory loss and fighting insecurities

Guchi, known as Nigeria’s purple princess, has managed to stand out from the crowd, and not just because of her signature purple hair. She became a global star in 2021 after her she dropped her viral hit Jennifer, which has amassed over 100 million streams globally.

She caught up DJ Edu for an in-depth conversation sharing her inspirational story of how she overcame personal struggles including coping with her mother’s brain damage and memory loss, being scammed out of thousands of pounds by people she trusted, and dealing with depression.

She has recently dropped her EP – No Skips, Just Feelings – which she says is “no fillers, just raw, unfiltered emotion.'
