Volunteer from 9/11 Michael Burke

A former New York resident with family links to Sligo and Mayo was a volunteer rescue worker who assisted at the scene of the 9/11 attack in New York, which occurred 25 years ago.
Almost three-thousand people were killed when hijackers flew planes into the World Trade Centres in New York City and into the Pentagon in Virginia. 
Another plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after the passengers fought back.It's a quarter of a century on from 9/11, and its impact is still being felt.
