Richard III reimagined in Stafford
Stafford Shakespeare's latest production, Richard III, arrives at Stafford Gatehouse on Tuesday 23rd June 2026.
Inspired by the gangland world of Peaky Blinders, the production is set around a bombed-out post-war pub as England's crown is contested, and features the biggest set ever seen in the venue's history.
Matthew Duckett, best known for his appearance in Lady Chatterley's Lover on Netflix, takes on the title role. He told BBC Radio Stoke’s Susan Hanks how preparations have been going.
