Central Library's snail race cancelled after protests
In a bid to get people in touch with nature, the City council had planned a snail race in Nottingham's Central Library.
The planned event encouraged people to collect snails from their area and bring them in for a race. The plans attracted backlash from animal welfare campaigners, so were cancelled by the council.
Summaya spoke to Professor Angus Davison, a snail expert, and Kerry Kane from Nottingham Animal Coalition about the problems and possible benefits of the event.
