'Why I’m scaring elephants with bees'
Worcester's Rachel Monger will construct a six kilometre protective beehive fence to safeguard a Tanzanian village which borders a national gamepark.
The project will use elephants' natural fear of the tiny honeybee to prevent them from destroying local crops and harming villagers, whilst also providing a source of income.
Rachel tells Malcolm Boyden how she'll help build 600 hives and train up 60 local beekeepers, creating a huge virtuous cycle within the Tanzanian economy.
