Shropshire's ultimate music success story
From the streets of Shropshire to the top of the singles charts, Carol Decker’s journey is a masterclass in resilience and timing.
She tells us how growing up in our area, including Wellington and Market Drayton, going to all the local clubs and northern soul all-nighters, set the stage for a late-blooming musical career.
Almost 40 years on, she’s still performing, including the number one China In Your Hand, with audiences roaring back every note.
Speaking to Toni McDonald, Carol shares the grit behind the glamour, reflecting on the early van tours from Shrewsbury to London, the long climb to a record deal, and the single piece of advice that still drives her.
