Metal detecting 'saved me' says ex-addict
A former drink and drug addict says metal detecting has "saved him" from slipping back into addiction.
Karl Monks, from Wotton-under-Edge, believes it's the best hobby in the world for ex-addicts who choose to turn their life around.
He picked up a detector for the first time less than three years ago and has since established the Cotswold Metal Detecting Community group, which has more than 130 members and has raised £17,000 for charity.
He says the fresh air, focus and community have been "fantastic" for his wellbeing.
