Woking: 'We had no say'
The official report into the financial collapse of Woking Borough Council is published.
Jack Fiehn has been delving through all 38 pages.
We have contacted multiple past and present Woking councillors for their reaction to the report's findings. None of them were willing to be interviewed on the record.
In a statement the leader, Ann-Marie Barker, said the council had been "focused on tackling the severe financial challenges" since the Liberal Democrat group took control in 2022.
She said she welcomed the publication of the report and that it represented "a pivotal moment in understanding the decisions and actions of the past" which had contributed to the current situation.”
