Why equity release mortgages could unlock some cash tied up in homes
It's going to be another tough winter with bills rising and benefits reduced. So far in 2024 the total amount of money lent by equity release has totalled over £1 billion.
Finance expert Laura Pomfret explains how an equity release mortgage could unlock the cash tied up in the homes of people over the age of 55. But it comes with a warning, the loan will be paid off when you die or move into a home, which can impact your family.
