Did you know there are 36 new romantic comedy films coming out this year? You may have seen big blockbusters like Your Place or Mine featuring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher or smaller budget hits like Rye Lane. So, are we having a rom com revival? On BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, Nuala McGovern spoke to film director Elizabeth Sankey, whose film Romantic Comedy looked at the history of the genre, and TV and film critic Rhianna Dhillon. They discuss the appeal of the rom com, how they've evolved since the 90s and 'rom com queens' from Marilyn Monroe to Jennifer Lopez.
