Mantel: Novelists make history 'transparent'
The historical author of Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies, Dame Hilary Mantel, will explore how a writer combines facts with imagination during the BBC Reith Lectures.
She says historical records are "not neutral but are interpretations from historians" and she argues that "novelists make this interpretation transparent".
