‘We have terrorist murders again on the streets of Belfast’

Northern Ireland's power-sharing executive is facing uncertainty after the Ulster Unionist Party withdrew from the Stormont administration.

UUP leader Mike Nesbitt said he could not work alongside Sinn Fein, because it rejected suggestions that the Provisional IRA still exists and was behind the recent murder of former member Kevin McGuigan Sr.

“The government was already dysfunctional with DUP and Sinn Fein at the centre clearly unable to deliver positive outcomes for our people,” Mr Nesbitt told Today.

“Now we have terrorist murders again on the streets of Belfast.”
