Robin announced as nation's favourite bird in 2015 poll
After nearly a quarter of a million votes the results of a vote to find Britain’s favourite bird are in.
In third place is the Barn Owl, in second the Blackbird and the most popular bird in the UK is the Robin.
David Lindo, ornithologist and the man who launched the Vote National Bird Campaign, told Today: "The robin is totally entwined into our national psyche".
"The robin is everywhere and I think most people would cite the robin as one of the birds they actually could recognise".
"The blackbird was second until we took into account the children's vote".
