Sir Paul Smith is one of Britain's most successful and influential designers. From a tiny three-metre square shop that opened in Nottingham in 1970, he built a global fashion business. He’s renowned for his blend of traditional tailoring with splashes of vivid colour – and his trademark stripes. His clothes have been proudly worn by pop stars, footballers, royalty, actors, and artists. His music choices include tracks by Beethoven, Puccini, Prokofiev and Thelonious Monk.

Presented by Michael Berkeley.
Produced by Graham Rogers.
