Rob Brydon stars as Peter O'Toole in award winning playwright Terry Johnson's debut drama for BBC Radio 4. With very strong language.

The play explores the high point of O'Toole's career on stage in Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell in 1999, along with his disastrous performance of Macbeth in 1980 which was critically panned and greeted with universal derision.

Both productions took place at the Old Vic, where Terry Johnson's drama is set. It explores themes of success, failure, love, life, art, ageing, and the pain of coming to terms with who you really are.

Written and directed by Terry Johnson.

The script is partly adapted from Loitering With Intent by Peter O’Toole, with the kind permission of Kate O’Toole.
