Mozart's Piano Concerto No 25

Live at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Philharmonia under Manfred Honeck in works by Johann Strauss and Richard Strauss, and with leading pianist Emmanuel Ax in Mozart.

The Philharmonia perform an all-Viennese programme under Manfred Honeck, who will become the orchestra's next Principal Conductor from September 2028. Beginning with the sparkling overture to Johann Strauss's operetta Die Fledermaus and ending with Richard Strauss's dark and dramatic Elektra Suite, which portrays one of Greek mythology's most dysfunctional family tales.

Multiple Grammy Award-winning pianist, Emanuel Ax, joins the Philharmonia to play one of Mozart's greatest concertos, a view which has long been held by critics including Donald Tovey and Albert Einstein.

Presented by Martin Handley, live from the Royal Festival Hall in London.
