This week, ‘Round Midnight joins in on the BBC’s The Music Is Black season, in collaboration with the V&A East in London.

Tonight, Soweto focuses on three black women who were masters of their craft as jazz musicians and who forged their way in a male-dominated sphere, making their mark in British jazz and internationally – pianist Hazel Scott, singer and pianist Winifred Atwell, and singer Cleo Laine.

'Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
