BBC Food & Farming Awards finalist: FarmED

Ian Wilkinson knows farming is going to change. After a summer of heatwaves and widespread drought, it's all too clear that farming is having to adapt to a changing climate. But what will that mean for the crops we grow and the techniques we use?

He doesn't pretend to have all the answers, but he wants to help people come together and talk about the challenges. So 15 years ago he and his wife set up FarmED: a demonstration farm experimenting with different crops, techniques and rotations, designed for people to explore how we can produce enough food while also restoring nature, adapting to climate change and keeping farmers in business.

They now get around 30,000 visitors each year from around the world - including global businesses, food companies and policy makers.

Charlotte Smith and Mali Harries - the judges of the "Farming for the Future" category in this year's BBC Food and Farming Awards - have chosen FarmED as one of their three finalists. Now, it's judgement time!
