Celebrating Charles Thomson, a USA Founding Father.
Celebrating Charles Thomson, a USA Founding Father – and 50 years of Omagh Protestant Boys Flute Band.
Helen Mark MBE presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine this week alongside Rab Lennox and Willie Hill. Helen visits a special exhibition in Belfast celebrating Charles Thompson – a man who came from Upperlands, County Londonderry and went on to be one of the Founding Fathers of the USA. Willie’s off to Co. Tyrone where The Omagh Protestant Boys Flute Band are marking 50 years since their formation. Meanwhile, Rab brings his son along to an Ulster-Scots class in Magherafelt!
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email – kintra@bbc.co.uk
